Description
The Fundraising Support Assistant works closely with the CCSS development and engagement team to support core fundraising operations, donor relations, and campaign initiatives for Connections Community Services Society. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor communications, and community outreach while making a direct impact on programs supporting the Richmond community.
Commitment: 3–4 hours per week
Mode: Hybrid (Remote & In-Person)
Responsibilities
- Assist with donor database maintenance, records entry, and acknowledgement letters.
- Support the planning and execution of general fundraising campaigns, annual appeals, and direct mailings.
- Help conduct donor and prospective sponsor research to identify community partnership opportunities.
- Assist in drafting promotional content for social media, newsletters, and fundraising materials.
- Provide ad-hoc logistics and administrative support for community fundraising initiatives and seasonal events.
- Participate in weekly check-ins with the supervisor to review campaign progress and assignments.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic familiarity with administrative tools, databases, or Google Workspace/MS Office.
- Comfort working with spreadsheets and managing information accurately.
- Discretion and ability to handle confidential donor information responsibly.
- Passion for community support, social services, and nonprofit fundraising.
