Cultivating Community: A Heartwarming Day of Indigenous Craft & Culture
On Saturday, 27 June 2026, the Indigenous Team at Connections Community Services Society hosted a beautiful and interactive Indigenous Culture & Craft Workshop. It was a truly special day dedicated to honoring traditional teachings, storytelling, and artistry.
The gathering began with a welcoming opening ceremony, followed by an introduction to the rich history, values, and traditional stories behind the crafts. Inspired by these meaningful teachings, everyone dove into the hands-on crafting session, bringing those stories to life by creating their very own corn husk dolls and beautifully detailed corn cob keychains.
It was an incredibly joyful and lively gathering! Between the shared life experiences, thoughtful questions about Indigenous traditions, and a whole lot of laughter, the spirit of connection was felt by everyone in attendance.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to learn, create, and share in this delightful expression of community and culture!
