On July 19, we successfully hosted FIFA World Cup Final Watch Party, bringing together community members of different ages and generations to enjoy the championship match between Spain and Argentina.

The event was made possible through funding from the City of Richmond’s 2026 Richmond Celebrates Soccer Community Celebration Grant Program, together with the venue and event support provided by V+ Club Karaoke & Lounge.

The event welcomed more than 60 participants, including CCSS staff, volunteers, families, youth, adults, seniors, community members, and soccer fans. The lively gathering reflected the spirit of intergenerational connection, as people from different age groups came together to cheer, share conversations, participate in activities, and experience the excitement of the World Cup Final as one community.

Throughout the event, participants enjoyed watching the match together, taking part in the Guess the Winner activity, joining the lucky draw, and capturing memorable moments with friends and family.

More than simply a soccer viewing event, the Watch Party created a welcoming space where different generations could connect through a shared interest. It demonstrated how sports can bridge age differences, encourage interaction, and strengthen relationships among people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to meet.
