Celebrating Connections at Christmas
Dear Community Partners,
This Christmas invites us to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the kindness, resilience, and connection we have shared as a community. As we celebrated together with our volunteers, we were reminded of how powerful it is when people come together to care, support, and uplift one another.
Looking back on 2025, we are grateful for the compassion shown by our dedicated volunteers, the lives touched, and the hope carried forward through every act of service. Inspired by the message of love, peace, and light that Christmas represents, we step into 2026 with renewed purpose, hope, and commitment to those we serve.
May this season bring warmth to your heart and strength to your spirit. Wishing you a meaningful Christmas and a hopeful year ahead.
Warm Regards,
Daniel Suen
Executive Director
🎅 Smiles, Laughter and Christmas Joy
Our Childcare Centre celebrated a heartwarming Christmas concert filled with excitement, music, and cheerful moments. The room was filled with festive spirit as children proudly shared smiles, laughter, and joy with their friends and families. The celebration created a warm, welcoming atmosphere that truly reflected the holiday season.
For many children, this was their very first Christmas performance, and they shone with confidence, happiness, and courage. Their joyful energy reminded us how meaningful it is to grow, learn, and celebrate together. This special event strengthened our sense of community and connection, bringing families, educators, and children closer together.
🏫 Digital Literacy for Seniors Program
What a joyful and meaningful way to celebrate the end of our Digital Literacy for Seniors Program! Tech Tutors and seniors came together to share their success stories, laughter, and memories from this special journey. 💛
Our seniors prepared so many delicious handmade dishes to express their appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our mentors. It was a beautiful reminder that gratitude can be shared in many heartfelt ways. 🍲✨
A huge thank-you to all our volunteers, with special appreciation to Aiden Luo for his outstanding leadership, and to Vicky Luo for coordinating such a successful and impactful program for CCSS. 🙌
🫶 A Season of Hope, Care, and Community
This Christmas season, we are proud to launch the Caring Angels Project, a heartfelt initiative created to share love, care, and hope with the community.
Volunteers from Vancouver Coastal Health, many of whom are navigating challenges in their own life journeys, have come together to express compassion through art. By sharing their photography and designs, volunteers have transformed their creativity into beautiful greeting cards that carry messages of warmth, resilience, and kindness.
Support the Caring Angels Project now by making a donation and receiving a set of Caring Angels cards in return. Together, we are turning creativity into connection and spreading love—one card at a time. 💛
🌱 Building Confidence Through Career Support
CCSS recently hosted two Langara College practicum students, Krystal Wang and Simon Tshindela, who have now completed their placements with our career development programs.
Through workshops and client support, they demonstrated the impact of individualized guidance, accessible tools, and supportive environments in helping youth and jobseekers build confidence and move forward.
🧥 Thank You for Your Generous Donations
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and partners, our clothing donation drive was a wonderful success, collecting over 2,000 lbs of clothing and essential items. The Vancouver Metropolitan Lions Club joined us on collection day, and the group photo captures the warmth, teamwork, and shared commitment to helping others.
Your contributions will support both the Homeless Program in BC and the Schools Program in Kenya, bringing comfort and dignity to individuals and families locally and abroad. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this meaningful initiative possible.
