CCSS Featured on OMNI News: Seniors and Digital Literacy

CCSS was invited to OMNI News “Focus Cantonese” to share about our Senior Digital Literacy Class programs. (OMNI TV)

Our senior digital literacy was recently featured on OMNI News – Focus Cantonese, Group Facilitator, Vicky Luo, was invited to share about how CCSS is helping older adults adapt to today’s rapidly evolving digital world and stay connected with the community.

Vicky explained that many seniors face daily challenges when navigating smartphones, computers, online services, and emerging technology. Simple tasks such as online booking, digital communication, or accessing essential information can become barriers without guidance and support.

The program also embraces intergenerational engagement, with youth and community volunteers provide one-on-one support to seniors in their learning journey. This creates meaningful relationships across generations and strengthens the overall social fabric of the community.

Senior participants receive patient, practical, and culturally accessible instructions  at their respective skill levels.

Vicky also highlighted that the program is deeply rooted in connection, confidence-building, and dignity. Seniors are encouraged not only to learn but to ask questions freely, laugh together, and rediscover a sense of independence. Many also shares that being able to communicate digitally with family members — especially children and grandchildren — brought them closer emotionally and socially.

We are grateful to OMNI News Focus Cantonese and host Yoyo Li for helping amplify this important community conversation through technology.
